GEF Seniors Housing considers the physical and psychological health, safety and social wellbeing of everyone working at, living at, or visiting our facilities to be of prime importance.
GEF is committed to the implementation and maintenance of its own comprehensive Health, Safety & Wellness Program, which provides a healthy, safe and injury-free environment.
In fulfilling this commitment to protect people, property and the environment, GEF will maintain a Health, Safety & Wellness Program that will meet or exceed expectations set forth in applicable industry best practices and Alberta Occupational Health and Safety legislation. To be successful, such a program must start with proper attitudes toward injury and illness prevention and social wellness on the part of everyone.
SAFETY IS EVERYONE’S RESPONSIBILITY
Employees at all levels of GEF are responsible and accountable for health and safety. Complete endorsement, active participation and enthusiastic cooperation in all elements of the health and safety program are expected of everyone. Only through such a cooperative effort can this safety program continue to grow and be preserved in the best interest of everyone, to improve our quality of life.
Management will set an example and provide leadership in health and safety, communicate health and safety policies and procedures, provide relevant training, personal protective equipment, tools and equipment, operations, maintenance procedures and adequate resources to perform the job safely.
Employees will follow all rules, safe work practices and procedures, and cooperate with GEF in working toward improved health, safety and social wellbeing at work.
Employees and management at all levels of GEF will be familiar with the requirements of the Alberta Occupational Health and Safety legislation as it relates to their work.
At all times, tenants, residents, visitors and contractors will conduct themselves in a safe and responsible manner and obey all signage and rules.
The main objective is a Health, Safety & Wellness Program that provides a safe, positive and enjoyable workplace for all employees, residents, tenants, guests and contractors by keeping the number of injuries and illnesses and amount of damage to an absolute minimum. GEF is committed to being a leader of health, safety and social wellbeing in the housing industry. It is our goal to reduce incidents, injuries and illnesses by finding and eliminating hazards in the workplace, educating employees on safe work practices and procedures and enabling all employees and contractors to understand their responsibilities for health and safety. We trust that you will join us in a personal commitment to making safety a way of life at GEF Seniors Housing.
