GEF is a Senior
For 65 years, the name of GEF Seniors Housing has been synonymous with vibrant, affordable communities for seniors in Edmonton. In 2024, Alberta’s largest non-profit social housing operator for seniors becomes a senior itself! As we enter our Golden Years, we join with our community in:
- CELEBRATING the wisdom, experience, and accomplishments that come with age.
- REFLECTING on our journey, achievements, and contributions to society.
- EMBRACING new opportunities, ENJOYING newfound freedoms, and ENGAGING in activities that bring fulfillment and joy.
Our celebrations kicked off during Seniors Week (June 3 to 9).
Kick Off Event – June 6
Mosaic Art Project
All summer, creative individuals from GEF communities had been painting canvases with the inspiration of what being a senior means to them. These pieces have come together to make a collaborative mosaic revealing sunflowers.
The mosaic was unveiled at an intimate function on National Seniors Day (October 1). The creatives were in attendance to celebrate and share stories on what inspired their contributions. You can view the full video of the event on our GEF Seniors Housing YouTube channel.
