Giving Tuesday

GivingTuesday is a global movement unleashing the power of people and organizations to transform their communities and the world.

Our Giving Tuesday campaign was aimed at enhancing Quality of Life for the nearly 4,000 seniors who call our buildings home. The lifting of pandemic restrictions meant holiday gatherings
were back on. We wanted to make the festivities extra special and reached out to vendors to help with draw prizes.

Past vendors who had generously supported GEF throughout the years, and new vendors alike, did not hesitate to get involved with our cause.

Bernadette DeSantis, our Director of Community Engagement, presented the gifts on behalf of the vendors. She said it was her pleasure to do so and, in return, she got to see everyone’s face
light up with surprise and delight.

Tenants and employees enjoyed cookies, baskets of goodies, a variety of gift cards and even Oilers tickets all of which were offered as draw prizes during the site holiday parties. Other vendors donated directly to our Quality of Life fund in support of seniors’ activity and wellness programming. Some vendors also wanted to get in on the festive action and volunteered their time
to help out at the site parties while mingling with the residents.

Photos from these events were shared on our social media channels and we’ve included just a few of the highlights here. The campaign was such a hit we would like to do it again next year.

It is compassionate donors like this who make an impact on the lives of others. We would like to thank the following vendors for helping enhance the lives of the seniors living at GEF and our
hardworking employees through their donations:
