Providing safe and comfortable housing is just the first step. GEF Seniors Housing believes in genuinely improving Quality of Life for seniors. We do this by keeping rent and service fees affordable for low to moderate-income seniors, maintaining our buildings and grounds, and providing programs and services that contribute to the well-being of every senior who calls a GEF community home.
Government funding provides basic accommodations and essential services. We need your help to provide programs and services that enrich the lives of seniors by improving their mental, social, and physical well-being and creating a sense of relationship with the community at large.
GEF Seniors Housing is a Registered Charity
We are Alberta’s largest non-profit social housing operator for seniors and a registered charity with the Canada Revenue Agency.
We focus on providing affordable housing and services for close to 4,000 low-to-moderate income seniors in Edmonton. But we can’t do it alone. We need your help.
A Sweet Moment, A Lasting Impact
Rosie is a tenant at GEF Bethany Senior Citizens Home. Although she speaks very little English, her routine of handing out candies attracted the attention of a passerby who was so touched by her kindness, he made a donation to our Quality of Life Fund.
The donor said that Rosie was like an angel who appeared out of nowhere and made him curious to learn more. That’s how he discovered GEF is a registered charity and housing provider. He wrote, “I hope Rosie is doing well and giving other lucky people caramel candies!”
