Planting Days FAQ
Do I need to bring my own tools and gloves?
Volunteers are encouraged to bring gardening gloves or small hand tools, although supplies will be provided if needed.
I don’t have much experience gardening – is this ok?
Absolutely – we are in this together! No previous experience needed! Between volunteers, staff and GEF seniors we will do our best to ensure the success of the garden spaces.
Are children welcome to participate?
Children are welcome to assist during Planting Day, provided they are supervised by an adult.
Should I bring a lunch?
Planting volunteers will be provided with a light lunch.
How will our contributions be recognized?
All contributions will be acknowledged in our Community Connections newsletter, on our website, and through our social media channels.
Will there be photos taken? What if I don’t want my photo shared on social media?
Photos will be taken throughout the activity. If you are not comfortable having your photo taken or shared on social media, please let us know! We’ll confirm verbal consent prior to taking photos.
